Here is some info on Darfur that i was asked to look up at last wednesdays meeting, sorry if this is not how i was supposed to put it up, i don't really know what i'mm doing.
Info on Darfur

• Since early 2003, Sudanese government soldiers and their proxy militia, known as the Janjaweed, have fought rebel groups in the western region of Darfur
• The government has responded by targeting the people who belong to the same ethnic groups as those of the rebel groups
• Hundreds of thousands of civilians have died from violence, disease, and starvation, and thousands of women have been raped
• People are forced from their houses and villages are burned
• Those who can have fled to neighboring Chad, but many are stuck, displaced, in Darfur
• Since 2005, the Government has stopped large scale attacks on civilians, but they are still in danger
• There is an African Peacekeeping force trying to help the situation but they have been unsuccessful, soon they may join with the UN
